2020 Topps Pro Debut Baseball sticks with being the flagship take on MiLB. It’s making a couple of significant changes. This year, hobby jumbo boxes are being added to go alongside the usual hobby boxes. Besides having one extra autograph, jumbo boxes are the only place to find the set’s other major addition — Topps Chrome parallels.
Hobby boxes have a pair of autographs and two memorabilia cards or manufactured relics. Jumbo boxes deliver three autographs.
2020 Topps Pro Debut Baseball Base Set Basics
Focusing on top players throughout the minors, there are 200 cards in the 2020 Pro Debut base set. For some, it represents their first major cards in their MiLB uniforms.
As usual, the design follows along with the flagship design from the year’s MLB counterpart.
- Blue (/150)
- Green (/99)
- Gold (/50)
- Orange (/25)
- Red (/10)
- Black (1/1)
Chrome cards land six per jumbo pack. This is the only place to find them.
Additional parallels for these come in:
- Refractors (/99)
- Gold Refractors (/50)
- Orange Refractors (/25)
- Red Refractors (/5)
- Superfractors (1/1)
Select base cards also have Image Variations that have different photos but the same general design. These have one-of-one Black parallels.
Autographs and Memorabilia Cards
Base Autographs adapt the main set’s design. Parallels also match with Blue (/150), Green (/99), Gold (/50), Orange (/25), Red (/10) and Black (1/1).
Future Cornerstones bring a bolder design along with signatures from some of the best players in MiLB. Orange (/25) and Black (1/1) parallels can also be found.
Fragments of the Farm Relics return. Rather than focusing on specific players, these cards have items symbolizing the teams. In the past, this has meant a variety of items including pieces of stadiums, bobbleheads, jerseys, signage and certificates. Parallels include Green (/99), Gold (/50), Red (/10) and Black (1/1).
Among the rarest cards in 2020 Topps Pro Debut are the Jumbo Patch Relics (/15). Some of these also have autographs (/5).
Distinguished Debut Medallions make up the product’s manufactured relic content. Besides Gold (/50), Red (/10) and Black (1/1) parallels, select cards get the autograph treatment.
2020 Topps Pro Debut Baseball has three new insert sets.
Copa de La Diversion (1:6 packs) spotlight Copa de La Diversion events held throughout the minors. One-of-one Black versions are the lone parallels. There are also relic versions with their own Gold (/50), Red (/10) and Black (1/1) parallels.
Ready for Flight (1:6 packs) looks at players who appear to be ready to jump up in the minor league ranks. In addition to the base versions, there are Green (/99), Orange (/25) and Black (1/1) versions. Select cards also have autographs.
Home run hitters are the focus of Tape-Measure Power (1:12 packs). Autographs are also available here.
The winner of the 2012 Make Your Pro Debut contest has their card in packs as well.
